I gave you everything

I gave you everything I had
My heart
My soul
My love
You gave me nothing in return
Not a glance
Not a kiss
Not a kind word
You threw it all in my face
And rubbed me into the dirt
I was nothing more
Than a voice at the corner of your mind
Because of you
I hated myself
I hated the world
And yet, I love you none the less
I love you through the abuse
I love you through the pain
I gave you all I had to give
I'm just sorry it wasn't enough

    Truly heartfelt! But I believe it's good to retain the love for it open doors for benevolence and warmth for others.
