In this world
we are truly alone
For only our hearts
Are there as gods
To depict our actions
And to comfort our sorrow
So when you die
And pass through to the next world
Will you come down from heaven
Cut through the clouds
Like lightning
To guide our dark paths
Or will you just shut your doors
And listen to the rain
That beats down on us
And when life is at its worst
We all look up to the sky
And blame a god
That's not there to blame
When in reality
all we are doing
Is blaming the heart
For the pain that it allows us to feel
And wish that we could just find
The great peace that we all seek
For if there is a god
Then he must of turned a blind eye
On us who have so little left
Worth living for
