Dead Man

Dead man
Were you ever alive
Living life with its restriction
Following your fellow country men
Like lambs to the slaughter
Under the banner of false pretences
Marching to the beat of others drums
Not following a path of your own
Dead man
When put in your grave
Was that the highlight of your life
Was your funeral the thing
That people will remember you for
Was that final rose on your coffin
Your only medal
And that 21 gun salute
Your final battle cry
Will your widow weep on your grave
Will your brothers hunt down your killer
Will your children remeber you
As Dad Or Father
